Our Ministry: Youth Programs Assistant, Merry Barnas
Merry Barnas is married and the mother of three grown daughters. She served as the Director of Religious Education for 16 years in Northern NJ, where her main goal was to instill in the youth a lifelong connection to Unitarian Universalism. She retired in 2001 and began teaching Pre School prior to her move to Pennsylvania. She was hired in November 2006 as the RGL Coordinator here at UCH. Merry assists the Director of Children and Youth RGL and the RGL committee and offers teacher support. She is active in curriculum planning, implementation and preparation. She supports the RGL volunteers, works with the parents, guardians and teachers to insure safe church policies are effectively practiced .within the program. Merry looks forward to passing on her love of Unitarian Universalism to the children of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg.
