Our Ministry: Director of Music Ministry, Sparkie Radcliffe

The Reverend Howard Dana

Sparkie has been a part of the music ministry at UCH for most of her life. She started playing the piano for worship services at age 12. For many years she served in the volunteer position as chair of the music committee. In 2003 she was hired as the director. Her knowledge of the congregation and its love of musical diversity have served her well in her creative approach to church music. In addition to her role as Director of Music Ministry, Sparkie plays upright bass in the Arcona Reel Band, an American Celtic group. She serves on the board of directors of the Harrisburg Men's Chorus, and as a liaison to the Joseph Priestley District for the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network (UUMN). While music is her passion, working for justice in human relationships is also an important part of her life. She is a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and a fiercely loyal friend.
